Education can prevent early marriage. Ripples of Hope (RoH) undertakes programs and work with like-minded partners to help girls from marginalized communities access or continue education. Our work in education takes many forms. We worked with the Milaan Foundation to set up a hostel for about 100 girls in Sitapur, UP, who had faced acute distress during the Covid pandemic and were in a highly vulnerable state. RoH works with the Aparajita Mahila Samiti in Delhi to educate pre-teen girls from some of the most marginalised communities in the city. On the ghats of Varanasi we hold an informal evening school whereas for some girls in Varanasi city we provide full scholarship covering tuition, books, uniforms and more. In Kishanganj, Bihar young tribal girls who have never gone to school are taking their first steps in the world of learning, social interactions, nutrition and health.
